Pliant is my life project: I started it 17 years ago because I was happy with no existing language, and it took me 15 years to get something usable (fast and powerfull).

I also have a PostScript RIP (also self contained and written from scratch, that can easily handle 1 square meter 2400dpi images) pending that needs porting from Watcom C++ OS/2 to Pliant.

Last, I have written a RAID reconfiguration tool with no ... or the hope of no data loss ... for Linux software RAID, because I wanted to change the settings on my 200 GB RAID set without feeding the 300 backup CDs, but it does not seem to have much supporters (not even mentionned in the software RAID howto. Maybe it's because it's written in Pliant, or because I am not properly certifyed :-) ) . It's included in the Pliant distribution.

I perfer frankness to modesty so I certify myself as a Master right from the beginning. Modesty is evil because it belongs to ideology, not facts.

The new Pliant forum is now open.
It's something in the middle of a forum, a mailing list, and a patches repository ...
or all at once.

It's available on:

The FullPliant server is now running and is basically stable.

Hello advogato,

I'm currently integrating Pliant database engine in the Pliant Debian installation script (installs Debian distibution without Debian installation tools and patches the Debian scripts on the file in order to proceed unattended: all the configuration files will be built on the fly from the content of the target computer description in Pliant database, so that when done, you don't have to change a single file by hand).

The FullPliant distribution has been upgraded as well: Pliant on top of Linux kernel with no extra code (except statically linked 'e2fsck' that I'm not fool enough to port to Pliant).

Will end soon (a few days) with upgrading the Pliant SMTP server to get accounts handled using Pliant database engine so that I will be back to HTTP+FTP+SMTP+POP3 Pliant servers running (was in release 25, one year ago ... before large cleanups).
