Janus is on its way to being an easy to use center for secure communications, anonymity protection and pseudonymity. Currently, it doesn't do much of anything, up to and including compilation (varies on any given day). First stage of the project is to get a minimal chat client working, then secure the chat using third-party encryption such as Cryptix. The project is done with Java2, to facilitate reaching a wide an audience as possible. Eventually parts will surely be done in something faster, such as C, but I plan to keep the client software in java. The server will probably be done in C after I do some prototyping in Java.

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.

If you're a C programmer with some spare time, take a look at the mod_virgule project page and help us with one of the tasks on the ToDo list!
