The name MAGE comes from MAGE Adventure Game Engine, in the fashion of GNUish recursive acronyms. As the name suggests, its goal is to provide a complete open source system for authoring and playing interactive fiction games. Due to its modular design, the front-end can be easily changed, thus allowing the creation of text-based user interfaces, while still supporting graphical clients (e.g. using the X Windowing System). Current goal is to produce a working plugin and frontend for a 0.2 release, using a new (and hopefully final) module architecture.

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
