OpenQueue is an open protocol for reliable, publish-and- subscribe message queuing. The project includes example software in Java, Perl, and Tcl (currently). There are also plans to make a JMS binding too, so OpenQueue can power the Java Message Service.

The commercial programs most similar to those in the OpenQueue project are IBM's MQSeries, Microsoft's MSMQ, and other s from Talarian, Vitria, etc.
