SableVM is a Java Bytecode Interpreter implementing Java virtual machine (JVM) specification, second edition. Its goals are to be reasonably small, fast, and efficient, as well as providing a well-designed and robust platform.

SableVM is meant to be highly standard compliant and reliable. It has been written with high portability in mind.

SableVM is very freely licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL). It also makes use of GNUClasspath, copyrighted by the Free Software Foundation FSF, and licensed under the GNU General Public License with linking exception.
