klibc, or "early userspace", is an effort to move as much initialization code in Linux as possible out of the kernel. Hopefully eventually we'll be able to move other non-performance-critical things, like partition detection, out into userspace as well.

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
