Freshmeat page:

ldapdns is a robust DNS server that forwards DNS requests to your LDAP directory. This means that changes to your LDAP directory will take affect immediately (no intermediate commands to run, and no cron jobs to wait for).

i wrote it because there really is no other thing like it that was free. Active Directory can do it, but the other two nameservers couldn't be modified easily to do it; BIND: because it's a terrible codebase, and DJBDNS: because of the restrictive license. It actually started as a two-hour project based on DJBDNS, but when I added threading and other goodies, it became possible to GPL it - as it was no longer dependant on DJBDNS at all.

License: GPL

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.

Keep up with the latest Advogato features by reading the Advogato status blog.
